Hold your tongue ring in place, and hold tongue still. Hold both sides of tongue ring. Then begin to twist one side, while holding the other side firmly. The ring should open easily. If not think about going to your piercer and having them do it for you.

You MUST keep your mouth clean, which means brushing gently after everytime you eat and gargling with an alcohol-free mouthwash i.e. Biotene and keeping your mouth cool by frequently sucking on ice. Be careful not to move your tongue around too much in your mouth when trying to get adjusted to the foreign objest in your mouth. (this is how your body is responding to the jewelry in your tongue) Your tongue will feel sore and may feel as if it is bruised. The easiest way to try eating for the first 3-4 days, which varies depending on the care and the individual body, superficial healing time may be more or less, I suggest placing the food on the side of the mouth and chewing slowly as not to further irritate your new piercing. Dont try to eat too much too fast, because this may lead to you biting your tongue and/or jewelry. Patience is key. After you adjust to your jewelry you shouldn't even notice it when eating.

if your tongue ball becomes unscrewed, the ball can fall off and as its so small you might swallow it..ive done it loads while eating -_- its really annoying, so make sure you screw it on extra tight! people dont swallow the bar, just the ball so you cant screw it back up.
