It would be very difficult to fit an entire alphabet in a corner. You are limited by the size of the stitches for making the shapes. An individual letter would be more doable, and the easiest way is to use Swiss embroidery, that is to use a contrasting yarn to cover each part of the relevant stitches. You can use graph paper to work out the necessary shape.

It depends on whether you want a multi-coloured scarf or just a plain old simple one coloured scarf.

It's pretty easy, you cast on probably about forty stitches, or until you are happy with the amount, and then you knit until you are happy with the length, then cast off. If you want a multi-coloured scarf, cast on and then knit until you are happy with the amount of one colour, then you count up the number of rows that is, you then change the colour and knit until you reach that number of rows again. In normal knitting, on one side you can see the coloured merge, some people dislike this, so it is best to keep it on one side to make your scarf look more professional, to make sure you do this, before changing colour make sure you are on the side you don't want the merge to appear and then change colour. If you don't know how to knit, cast on, cast off or change colour, please leave a message on my message board and I will send back instructions, or instructions with pictures depending on what you'd like.

One method would be to use a different color for the letters and knit them directly into the blanket. You might use yarn bobbins to keep the colors separate.

Another might be to make the letters separately and sew them on afterwards, which is not actually knitting them into the blanket as you asked, but might work out for the project.
