its very very simple. if you put the car in a drive gear, you should move. if not, you should hear noises suggesting something isn't right. a broken axle will make alot of noise, and depending on the year, your speedometer may show that you are moving when you clearly arent.
I guess the boot is cut or broken.
When an axle breaks on a 1994 Honda Civic it is less expensive to replace it rather than repair it. Replacement axles in labor costs under $300 per side.
To replace the axle on a 1993 Honda Civic the axle nut has to come off. The hub assembly also will need to be pulled back so the axle can be pulled from the transmission.

Something has broken in the rear axle.Something has broken in the rear axle.
could be transmission damage. At the least the cv axle was probable broken. The cv axle should not bt that hard to replace, but the transmission is a different story.
Begin by removing the tire and wheel from your 1993 Honda Civic. Remove the brake assembly and the brake rotor. Remove the axle retaining bolts. The axle will come off.
Most likely a broken or about to be broken drive axle
It's better to replace axle

I have experience with a 1984 and a 1991 civic. The large nut at the wheel in the center of the hub needs to be removed (usually its tightened to about 150 ft lbs), the lower ball joint gets disconnected and the hub is moved off of the outboard end of the axle shaft. The inboard end of the axle is retained into the transmission with a clip mounted on the end of the axle. You can release the axle from the transmission by carefully placing a prybar between the trans housing and the axle and popping it out.
You have a broken axle or the gears are stripped/broken. Consult a trusted mechanic.
