my son found duck eggs in a wheat field they were burning. the hen was sitting, but he got them so they would have a chance to survive. I put in an incubator but some of the eggs are dark under the shell are these good eggs?

More methane means it is bad.
The best way to tell if a raw egg is off is to place it in water. If it is off, it will float. If it is good, it will sink entirely. If it is old, but still edible, it will position vertically in the water, with its blunt end up but its pointier end touching the base of the bowl of water.

∙ 11y agoEggs if you put them in water and they float, they are bad. If they sink, they are good eggs. That is how you tell if they are bad or good. I would throw them away if they float. Or hard boil them and grind them up and feed to your chickens. They love it.
