Look for discrepancies in size, color, or the material that the item is made from. For items such as autographs, buy signatures that have been authenticated by a company like PSA/DNA, Upper Deck or other top companies that use matching holograms on the item. Buy from reputable dealers that guarantee their merchandise, and can be easily contacted if something is wrong. You might pay more money but you could sleep better knowing you have the real deal.
