I found out I had gallstones because I was suffering from excruciating upper abdominal pain. It wasnt a burning or sharp pain,it was more like a really painful gas pain and I thought it was a one time episode and I could wait it out and it would go away, which it did eventually, but it would reccur everytime I ate anything greasy or fattening. One day it was so bad I had to go to the ER and I was diagnosed with gallstones and scheduled for surgery to remove the gallstones.

∙ 8y agoGallbladders usually cause a good amount of pain. If the pain seems to be on the right side, some times you get a Sharp stabbing pain that goes into your back. The pain can get worse after eating or drinking (especially if you eat something with a lot of fat in it.) Unusual diarrhea and nausea are also signs of gallbladder issues. The only way to rule it out is to see a Dr. They can do urine test, blood test, and sometimes an ultrasound to see if there is any stones or other underlying issues with your gallbladder.
