Normal DVD players will not play Blu-ray discs
True, you must buy a player that specifically states that it plays Blu-Ray discs. They run from $200+
It's the same with HD DVD's and Blue-Ray discs unless a player states they can play either; they won't run. Be careful too because HD DVD's and Blue-Ray discs are 2 separate things and are incompatible with each other so a player will play 1 or the other but not both. Soon enough though Blue-Ray will be all that is available as it will be the future of movies/televeision viewing. Regular DVD's and DVD players will soon be just like our distant friend... the VHS and VCR.
Its very simple man..

DVD players cannot play Blu-Ray discs. But Blu-Ray players can play DVDs
Any DVD player that is capable of playing HD material will have a logo on it to announce that it is HD capable. Look for either a BluRay logo or HDDVD logo. Even better, take a look at the manual.
The best way to persuade someone to get an Xbox 360 is tell them about the features of the game console. You can explain it will play BluRay movies, has Netflix and other movie services.
The Xbox 360 is not made to play Blu-ray DVDs. It will only play standard DVDs and this is likely the source of your problem.
Well, any electronics expert will tell you that you can get one at any store. Some blu ray players play both while others don't. Best option is to go to an electronics store like Best buy and get a built in player there for 100 dollars.
the platforms for batman begins are playstation 2, xbox and gamecube. you can also play those discs on ps3 xbox360 and wii. awesome
How many times do I have to tell everybody that Wii does not play DS games! There is no slot! Wii uses discs and DS uses cards!
It depends. In an actual play, tell the player nicely or end the game.
AnswerYou have to check the specifications of the DVD player when shopping for one. The specifications or feature description of DVD player will tell if it is compatible with DVD, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW. The last 4 are different types of common burned DVDs. If these are listed in specifications or box or the product, the DVD player should play these DVDs. Other point to note is the format in which data or movies are stored on the burned DVD. DVD players may be region specific and e.g. may only be able to play NTSC Region 1 type discs. Some players can play both NTSC, PAL and are available (or can be made region free). If you have stored movies in AVI or DIVX format, please also check if the DVD player can play DIVX.
It is part of the anti-piracy protection. Their own optical discs are created in a way that home consumer DVD drives cannot replicate. Therefore the Wii can tell if a game is authentic, or if it has been pirated, and refuse to play the latter.
Right now there is no way to tell. Nobody keeps track of it.
