You should never assume that any answer on WikiAnswers--or for that matter, any website--is free of errors. This is very important to understand. See the Terms of Service (linked to the right or from the bottom of any page) for more on this.
However, you also shouldn't assume that someone doesn't know the answer to one question just because they didn't know the answer to a related question. For example, let's say you're a new student of World War II and you know that Pearl Harbor was bombed on December 7, 1941, but you don't know why. You could answer "When was Pearl Harbor attacked?" but not "Why was Pearl Harbor attacked?" Also you should check other sites and compare results. It's nice knowing the answers but even better is knowing that they're correct.
When you ask a question you will be given a selection of similar previously asked questions. Clicking on any of them will reveal the answer. Alternatively browse the categories for previously answered questions.
There are far more questions than answers, and it is completely user-based. There is no one here who is paid to answer your question. You might try searching for answered questions similar to yours.
Similar questions can be merged - to be answered by a single contributor.
These are all questions, so there are no answers. If someone answers one of these questions, the answer would go to the questioner. Now at the top of the Answers.com/WikiAnswers page you could click "New answers" to see if a similar question got answered, but you could be scrolling for days. I hope this helped. Best of everything.
There are many websites similar to WikiAnswers which you can ask questions on. Quora is very similar to WikiAnswers except that it has more features, and a smaller user base. Aardvark is another Q&A service that is designed to get answers fast and it works well, but you can't search for questions on it that have already been answered. Because no one ever answers the questions. --- The rhetorical question is valid if it it were possible for Answers.com to answer all of the questions asked on WikiAnswers. But a very large number of questions have been answered correctly, and a number of questions have not. Some questions are easier to answer or have more users knowledgeable in the subject matter. Some questions are harder to answer, and some are not possible to answer factually. To improve the chances of having a question answered, a question should be clearly phrased and added to the proper category. Even then, answering is done by volunteer users and an answer cannot be guaranteed. Askers may also find information in answered questions that are similar, or in the same category.
