Under Tools menu select 'Enter Flight Simulator' option then you can pick the F-16 or SR22 and your starting location. Next you're in that airplane.

You can start the flight simulator in Google Earth by pressing Ctrl+Alt+A or selecting enter flight simulator from the tools menu. You have the option to start flying from the current view or from an airport runway (pick one from list with airports around the world). Once you see the aircraft HUD display you can press page-up key to accelerate.

Press and hold page up (PgUp) until you pick up decent speed then press the down arrow to pull up. Might have to try several times to avoid a stall.

For Google Earth Flight Simulator Tips see related links below.

Yes and no.

With respect to the Flight simulator, Google Earth only has a F-16 and SR22 that you can fly. If you want to realistically simulate flying a 747 then a Flight Simulator like X-Plane will let you do that.

If you want to place a 747 model into the world then you can find a 747 3-D model in Google's 3-D Warehouse and place that into Google Earth.

Google Earth desktop client (now called Google Earth Pro) has a flight simulator that you can take off and land. Google Earth supports two types of aircraft: F-16 (Viper) and SR22.

Help with the flight simulator is found here.
