Answer

There are short classes offered at local PetSmarts. The trainers there are wonderful and they can handle even the most stubborn, bratty dog. Group classes here run about $30-50 for short classes (tricks, house breaking) and $100 for 8 week obedience. Invaluable when the books failed for us.

Answer

go to google search for pet tricks. there are many that are easy to teach such as give paw, etc.

Answer

What kind of pet, is the first thing I'd want to know. If it's an Australian Blue Ringer octopus or a Gabon Viper, I would say it's best not to try. If it's a dog, there are many books available on how to train them, some even specific to certain breeds. Generally it's accepted that cats can't be trained, but I'm not sure that's true. There are bound to be books available on that topic too, or any other pet you can think of. Since you're obviously on the internet, try a search on your favorite search engine. You'll probably find more information there than you have time to study. Good luck.

Answer

Animals are very easy to train. All of my animals...except for my cats.....who i haven't tried to train...yet, can do the very simple "Shake", "Lay Down", "Roll Over" and of course "Stay". Ther are many sites that give tips on how to train an animal. But, I would advise you look for a friend that has pets they trained, and ask them for pointers.

Just remember, if they are doing something wrong don't hit or slap them. Instead do what their mothers would do in the wild. Mothers snap and then ignore them. Humans can replicate this by claping their hans and making loud noises with your voice, and then ignore them. don't even make eye contact. Also, This might be the biggest mistake, even thought it may seem like common since, If you animal won't come to you and you are yelling "Come" over and over again, and it finally comes to you, make sure not to act frustrated and discipline the animal, if you do this you are more or less letting it know, when you say come, you are going to it. I know that seems a little dumb to have to mention, but that is the most common mistake pet owners make while getting frustrated when training an animal.
