If you mean your account password, go to Blizzard's website, go into account management and select Change your password. The account management page can also be accessed by first opening the game and on the title scree where it asks you to log in go to the bottom left hand corner and click "Account Management"

Double click the icon on your desktop for World of Warcraft. Depending on if you have the show launcher check-box marked, the launcher will pop up, hit the play button. If you have the check-box marked as do not show launcher, then the game will start right away without showing the launcher.

When the game starts it brings you to the log in screen. Enter your details in the user-name and password fields.

Note: you must have an account for world of warcraft. If you do not have an account, go to the official site and create one. You will probably make an account at battle-net too as all world of warcraft accounts must have a battle-net account.

To log into World of Warcraft, do the following steps.

  • 1. Open up your World of Warcraft client. Do this by double clicking the icon on your desktop and clicking play.
  • 2. Input your username, which is the email that you used when you signed up for World of Warcraft. (IE: username@somemail.com)
  • 3. Input your password. This is the password that you choose when signing up for World of Warcraft. It will look like a bunch of asterisks. (IE *********)
  • 4. Input your Battle.net/Blizzard authenticator code. NOTE: this step is only for people with the Battle.net/Blizzard authenticator. You will not be asked the code every time you log into the game.
  • 5. Select your realm.
  • 6. Select your character/create a character.
  • 7. Click "Enter World".
  • 8. Enjoy the World of Warcraft.

If you have set an account recovery secret question, you can answer this to prove it is your account. You will then be contacted (By phone if your email is hacked) by Blizzard and they will sort it out for you within a week.

After having installed the game and starting an account with world of warcraft, you simply start the game, input your email address that you registered on the site with and the password.

But don't make your password longer at 16, and only include letters and numbers and "!#$%" (optional). The battle.net account stupidly accepts passwords that the World of Warcraft client does not. Their security pages have very good information about password, but the game itself doesn't support those features.

If your account was banned by Blizzard, it cannot be recovered and is gone forever. If you stopped paying the subscription, all you have to do is log in to battle.net and reactivate the subscription for the game to work.

If your account was locked because it was compromised ("Hacked"), you have to contact customer support to have it restored. This will require sending them a copy of your ID to prove you are the owner, as well as filling in a form stating that you fixed whatever error or Trojan you had that caused the compromising of the account.

Step 1: Go to Control Panel, click on Add or remove a program, and uninstall completely. On a Mac, use the Application finder, and drag World of Warcraft into the Trash.

Step 2: Go to your Program Files folder (C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files (x86\), and delete the World of Warcraft folder entirely (this removes all addons and so on). On a Mac, they are probably stored in ~/Library/Preferences.

Step 3: Insert the original installation disc, or download the installation client from the website.

Step 4: Run the installation.

Step 5: Run WoW, and apply the patches.

Step 6: Enjoy the next raid or arena match.

Probably the best way to do this would be to contact Blizzard Customer Support via telephone and have them help you. They will ask you some questions, and might even ask you to send in some proof that you are the account holder, just to be safe.
