  • Since I am a fellow vegetarian, I will try to answer your question to the best of my ability. Animals that are used for consumption are fed cheaply made food, and since they are crammed into tiny stalls and cages the animals get very sick. They usually give them antibiotics to prevent these animals from getting sick. Being vegetarian reduces the risk of weight gain because you aren't eating meat that was pumped full of antibiotics and cheap grain. In addition, veggies don't have a high fat and calorie count.

  • If you are already a vegetarian and are trying to lose weight, you may need to look at what you are eating, and also at how much exercise you are getting. See your doctor and nutritionist to be sure everything is ok. If you are eating dairy, refined sugars, starchy vegetables, bread and pastas, you may want to try some new items. Try to add foods with more fiber into your diet. Eat many small meals and snacks instead of a few large meals. Cut out all of the processed funk and stick with the freshest food. There are many things you can do but the best thing to do is find a professional and make a plan.
