Depends on how over weight you are and how much physical activity you can do?

There is all kinds of ways to lose weight. The simplest yet hardest way to lose weight really relies mostly on your diet in the first place. Exercising just helps speed up the process. You can still exercise with shin splints you just have to modify what you're doing. For the most the reason why you have shin splints is because of poor stretching and weight, so while you're doing these alternative exercises make sure you're watching your diet and stretching for at least 30 minutes with each exercise. Here are some alternative exercises:

  • Swimming (actually the best exercise you can do, works all muscle groups while impacting the joints the least)
  • Lifting weights
  • Push ups, situps
  • Row Machine with as much impact you can take on your legs
  • Sex it's not much exercise for most, but if you make the most of it
  • Basically anything to get your heart rate up. Remember to focusing on burning the fat you want to keep your heart rate between 120 and 130 any higher you will basically burn fat but it turns into cardio and you end up turning that into muscle. If you don't keep the muscle up then your back at square one because that will just turn right back into fat.

Focus on your diet stretch get the heart going you will come around. Losing weight is a hard thing to do.
