Well first there are 2 types of servers, Hamachi and Non Hamachi. The pros and Cons of each server will be listed.
Hamachi Pros
-static IP (IP never changes)
-No portforwarding required
-Somewhat easier to set up
Hamachi Cons
-Your friends need Hamachi to connect
-You need a fairly strong computer
Non Hamachi Pros
-No Hamachi needed
-Dynamic IP so it sorta prevents hacking (IP changes every few days)
-You need to give your IP away
Non Hamachi Cons
-Port forwarding
-Some don't like a dynamic IP
-Harder to set up
How to setup a Hamachi Server
1. Download either the 32 bit or 64 bit server file
2. After you've downloaded the files drag the 'minecraft server 32' or Minecraft server 64' folder onto your desktop.
3. Download Hamachi and make a network ID and password
4. Make note of the ID and password and your Hamachi IP to give to your friends.
5. Run either the 32server.bat or 64server.bat
6. Close the server down and open server.properties and edit online-mode=false and your IP as your Hamachi IP.
7. Run 32server.bat and connect to your Hamachi IP to test.
8. your friends need to connect to your Hamachi network first so they can connect.
How to setup a Non Hamachi Server
1. Test if you have Java and what operating system you are running.
2. If you don't have Java installed download it above.
3. Download either the 32 bit or 64 bit server file
4. After you've downloaded the files drag the 'Minecraft server 32' or Minecraft server 64' folder onto your desktop.
5. Go to the portforward link above and find your router model / minecraft server to open the port; 25565
6. Make sure your computers firewall and Antivirus is turned off.
7. Run either the 32server.bat or 64server.bat
8. For you to connect the server is; localhost for your friends to connect go to ipchicken to find your IP
There you have it. If you still have problems feel free to comment on the video or message me.
well on the PC... it is a lot to explain so.... you can read and follow this or look it up on YouTube. so here we go.
step 1.go to minecraft.net and click the download button. look down where it says download multiplayer server for windows. click the download button. then don't save it or run it just close it.
step 2. go to your downloads folder and find the server software you just downloaded. click and drag it to your desktop. create a new folder on your desktop and call in minecraft server. drag then server software you downloaded into this folder.
step 3. double click on the minecraft server software an click run. it will run and say done when it is done. then type in stop in the typing area. you will see a lot of folders that it created. start clicking on them and choosing the way you want it to be. make sure you make yourself a op. if you try to open folder and it says it cant do it then click choose a program from a list of programs. click notepad.
step 4. after you are done with all of you settings then run the server again. once you finish running it and preparing the spawn then log in to you minecraft and go to multiplayer. name it whatever you want and use the ip localhost to get on. if it works then you have followed this correctly so far.
step 5. close minecraft and the server and go to portforwarding.com. in the upper left hand corner is 2 search bars type in your brand and model. if you do not trust this site then that sucks for you. once you have typed in your brand and model (that should be on your router) then you should see a list of letters. go down to the m section and find minecraft server link in orange. click it. that should take you to a page on how to pordforward with your router. follow the steps carefully and once you are done...
step 6. go to your search bar and type in ipchicken.com take the ip that is there and copy it. run your server again and change the ip to the new one you just got. if it works then congradulations you have done it correctly. if it does not connect then you must have done something wrong with the portforwarding. sorry this is sooooooooooooooooooooooo long you should have just looked it up on youtube
yes, but will mostly not waste time or effort on it. i have a server but whitelist only
To type it over the internet would be hard and confusing. You need to port forward. There are a lot of videos on Youtube that show you how to do it. You need to Get into your Hub Settings.
Hope this helped
You download the server software fm minecraft.net and set up the world, then port forward it and install all the fancy mods especially essentials, and set permissions, commands and what not. Then, voila! Note that you didnt require steps, so i wrote briefly. Theres lots more to do xD
There are two main ways this can be achieved, you can either pay a company such as daddycheese to host it for you or you can do it yourself although your computer must be up to it. to properly do it yourself.
You and your friends who would also have to have the full game would have to be on the same Wifi and then go to a world and set it up in the options. When your friends start up Minecraft it will be in there list of worlds.
From the related link below, you download the multiplayer beta software (server file). Then you forward port 25565 and give users your IP address.
You simply load the server exe from minecraft.net and load the "World" folder and let it gen, then port forward it. It would be best if you had lots of spare RAM though.
You need to make a secure web page and then go to Minecraft Multiplayer and make a server. The IP will be: mc. and then your webpage name, .net
Minecraft has a multiplayer option at the main menu. you must make a multiplayer server, or join one to play with friends.
if you created it right then they have to know you multiplayer server address to get to your multiplayer server
Minecraft has made it very easy to make a multiplayer server. Simply go to minecraft.net and download the server .exe. Type in the IP address of the computer you are running the server on and you will connect to your new server! Please note that you will have to port forward your server for people to be able to connect to it from the internet.
the Fun land server.
Simply click "Multiplayer" then do "direct connect" or "add server" and type in a server IP. From there, you can play with friends and family on a Minecraft server.
Its a server for Minecraft multiplayer PVP
its not run on a "server" multiplayer is but you download minecraft and it runs on your system.
You can't
You cannot get Minecraft multiplayer for free. You must buy the game to be able to log onto a server.
The steps involved; On Minecraft 1.7.2, you go to 'multiplayer' and see your server list. Sometimes there are mini pictures beside them. I was wondering how to make/get them?
Minecraft has a separate multiplayer server file to download for free. Just look for the links for the forums or look at Youtube to find out how to set it up.
