Then build the front of the castle out of cardboard and paint it grey to look like stone. Then you should thread string through the top of two of the sticks. Hook the string around a cotton reel pulley system, so when you pull the string, the portcullis would raise. You should have two portcullises within your castle so that you can enclose your enemies in the barbican and shoot with them with arrows from the castle walls.
