How do you make a small working windmill?

Get a dc motor. of toy cars that run on battery or stuff which works on motor.

Collect Old wires

• Stick the old wires to the terminals of the motor
• Take 4 small piece of cloth and metal bendable wires.
• Make a windmill skeleton out of the wires
• Put the clothes together on the skeleton to complete the rotor part
• Attach the windmill on the motor by means of burning, or metal wires. Burning with plastic will also do but be careful.
• Make a stand for the motor to fix in. This can be done with metal wires.
• Connect a battery or bulb( recommended, to show the effect of windmill)

The easiest way is to take an electric motor and connect the shaft to a windmill or other means of turning (water flow, steam etc). The wires coming off the motor will now be producing electricity. Using gears between the turbine and the shaft will make the generator turn faster and increase the current

Basically, you have three options:

1. Make a model of hydro-power plant (water flowing from higher point to lower point and making the turbine rotate and thereby running the generator.

2. Make a model of a windmill (either to make flour or electricity, it's up to you)

3. Since "hydro" means liquid, you can't really make a hydro electricity windmill model unless you put a windmill on top of your hydro-power plant. :)

if you want to make a wind turbine you would need a generator (some are in toy cars), a structure to hold it up and and a propeller and last you would need wind.
