There are many variants of chemicals that make up polishes and unless your a chemist, you are better off purchasing a high quality polish for your car.
You probably will not stand to save money trying to create your own.
There are MSDS that you can read on auto polishes that list their chemical makeup and from there you can get an idea about what is in them.
