Southern Pecan Pie (from Let's Break Bread Together)

3 eggs , 2/3 cup sugar, dash of salt, 1 cup corn syrup, 1/3 cup melted butter or margarine, 3/4 cup lightly chopped pecans, and 1 9inch unbaked pastry

Beat eggs thoroughly with sugar, corn syrup and melted butter. Add pecans. Pour into pie shell. Decorate top with whole or halved pecans if desired.

Bake at 350F for 50 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between centre and outside comes out clean. Cool. Serve with whipped cream and/or ice cream.
