Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
On a sheet plan lined with tin foil mix:
2 cups rolled oats
3/4 cup wheat germ
3/4 cup seeds (I recommend the following)
1/4 raw hulled sunflower seeds
1/4 raw hulled pumpkin seeds
1/4 flax seed
1 cup chopped nuts (almonds and walnuts taste great together)
Toast in the oven for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In a sauce pan bring the following to a gentle simmer:
2/3 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
4 tbsp unsalted butter (NO MARGARINE)
2 tsp real vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
In a large bowl mix toasted mixture with 1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional), 8-8.5oz of chopped dried fruit. Then mix in the melted mixture.
Line a 11"x13" baking dish with the tin foil from the sheet pan and spray with cooking spray. Smooth out mixture into the pan and press flat. Let stand 2-3 hours before cutting.
Yes, you can certainly make granola bars at home. They are less expensive than buying them in store and much healthier. A good granola bar recipe can be found here: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/chewy-granola-bars/detail.aspx.

There is no real way to say granola bars in Spanish... In spanish you are basically saying the bar of cereal which people interpret as granola bars. you would just say "la barra de cereal" in order to say granola bars. :)
If you make them at home they can be a healthy snack. The ones at the store are full of sugar and chemicals and contain very little nutrition.
Oatmeal, possibly granola and granola bars
I would have to say there is a lot of sugar in granola bars. To you chubby kids, you might think that granola bars are a "healthy snack" but they aren't! You are just gonna get fatter if you eat them! Curse granola bars!I would have to say there is a lot of sugar in granola bars. Granola bars come in many varieties and not all of them are an especially healthy snack choice. Granola bars made with whole grain and natural ingredients tend to have less sugar and are a healthy choice.

Nature Valleys Granola Bars
It depends. Many granola bars (pretty much all of them, actually) have glycerin in them. Check to make sure that the ingredients label says "Vegetable Glycerin" because if it doesn't then you don't know whether an animal was killed to make the granola bar or not.
