I'm not sure you can. Hamburger patties have things added to them such as seasonings, bread crumbs, and eggs. In order to return hamburger patties to ground beef you would have to remove those things.

Grab a neat handful of ground beef and flatten it out on your worksurface. Add garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, a little pepper, maybe a little BBQ sauce, and moosh it all together with the meat. Than flatten out the mixture again until it is more or less flat and round. Grab a salad plate and use it to press the meat mixture flat and mayber 3/8" to 1/2" thick. Take it to the grill and cook it! Not the salad plate, the burger. Salt lightly ONLY after the burgers are done, or the salt will suck out the juices. Yum.

It starts with ground beef. I personally like chuck, but hamburger, ground round, or other ground beef works just as well.

The meat should be about 6 ounces in weight. This amount of meat should be sufficient to fit in your hand. Roll the meat in your hand into a loose ball, then flatten the center with your palms. Applying pressure on the meat, continue flattening the ball until it is a disk about 6 inches across. Check to make sure that the sides are even and firmly packed.

Place on a grill or in a hot skillet, brown the meat thoroughly until the internal temperature registers 140, remove from heat. The patty will be about 4-5 ounces now after cooking. Place on bun, enjoy your hamburger.
