'Being sick' is often used as a phrase for vomiting. If you are considering making yourself sick then you should first ask yourself why. If it is for weight loss reasons then making yourself sick should NEVER be the answer. ONLY healthy eating and exercise should be used for weight loss.

Vomiting or purging can expose the teeth to stomach acids, which pretty quickly erode the enamel. Just like erosion on hillsides after rains, the teeth become pockmarked with crevasses and holes (cavities). The teeth soften, so they more easily break off. As well, a beautiful white smile becomes yellowed and dull after a history of using vomiting to control weight or gain sympathy.

If you are wanting to make yourself sick due to feeling ill, like after a night out drinking or because you feel sick but are not at the point where your body will naturally be sick, then the only way really is to put fingers down your throat. HOWEVER, doing so is forcing your body to be unnaturally sick. This will cause undue pressure to your brain and heart. It can result in the short term in blood vessels around your eyes to burst, headaches and sore throat due to stomach acid. Making yourself sick will also result in many other consequences including harm to the teeth, throat, esophagus, and stomach. As well it can throw off the normal acid-base balance in the body, resulting in damage to major organs, such as the kidneys.

There are many opinions on the web as to how to make yourself sick. Drinking concoctions or following a set of steps is recommended by other web users can be even more dangerous than putting your fingers down your throat. NO option is recommended but certainly be careful with trying anything else!

Making yourself sick more than one time can in the longer term cause hair loss, tooth rot and gum disease, acne and even heart attack as well as irreparable damage of the esophagus, stomach and kidneys amongst other consequences which include death.

Anyone searching on here for an answer as to how to make themselves sick really must ask themselves why they are wanting to do so. For weight loss reasons, you must never make yourself sick. Anything that is likely to cause health problems and death is not worth losing a few pounds over! Please, please, please think about why you are reading this page and make the right decision from it.

You may need to go see a doctor such as a psychologist or even possibly a psychiatrist and be put on medication. If you do not know the reason you feel the need to do this then you need to find someone to talk to or do some inner soul searching : ). If you are doing it because you feel you need to have more control of your life, then you need to understand that NO one is fully in control in life. You can never control other people or their reactions--- you can only control your own behavior and reactions. If you are doing this as a way to lose weight believe me you will not lose; you will actually gain weight because when you purge you only expel about half of the calories you just consumed and your body is still ridding itself of food and will put itself into starvation mode and then everything you eat will be turned to fat.

Other consequences of making yourself ill.

Any problems you feel you will "fix" or avoid by "getting sick" will only be worse by "making yourself sick". For example, if you want to avoid school or tests, you'll get further behind at school. As a consequence, your grades will drop. Even if you "don't care" about grades now, you will by the time you graduate from high school.

If your intention is to get attention at home, you should know that your supposed "illness" will also cost your mom or dad money, lost time from work, and unneeded worry. From the perspective of a physician, you'll be wasting physician's office time, increasing overall healthcare costs for your parents and other patients, and eventually you will be labeled as a hypochondriac in your personal medical record. Medical persons do not have much sympathy for people who "make themselves sick" because there are billions of truly ill persons who need attention and time from nurses and physicians.

As described, your gums and teeth will become "sick" so plan on numerous trips to the dentist. Stomach acid eats holes into teeth and often the only "cure" is root canals (plan on up to 6 visits for 1 root canal) or extraction (pulling the tooth). Your parents will pay increased dental bills. And because it is very easy to recognize the tooth destruction caused by repeated vomiting, any dentist will soon guess your "secret" activities. Again, you will be labeled in your dental (medical) file.

Sooner or later, your parents will catch on to what you've done to "be ill". Instead of sympathy or concern, they will likely get angry at some point! The extra worry, increased medical and dental bills, and time and attention is not fair to your parents or to your siblings. Yes, your parents will still love you but you will have caused a distrust that will be very hard to fix.

sick is easy to fake

1.) eat little the day before

2.) take a warm wash cloth and hold to your forehead for 2 min. make sure all wettness is gone

3.) tell adult u got a stomach ache and tell them to get a thermometer

4.)once you got it go in to the bathroom so they can't go in there.

hold it up to a light bulb and get the temperature no more then 100!!!! the safe way to go is to go about 99.6-8, so it won't look to suspicious when your mom

takes you to the doctors.(when there say I'm feeling a little better.)

Staying off school is nothing more than a wasted opportunity. School happens just once and it can change your life depending on how you treat your time in school.

However, if you are insistent on staying home, the first thing you have to do is convince your parents that you are sick. You might just want to remember that your parents were once kids. They probably tried it themselves and they normally see straight through your best efforts.

Tell your mom you don't feel well; your stomach hurts. What i have done is actually take choclate milk and "drink" it go to the bathroom and "throwup". That has worked but if your mom makes you take your temperature I suggest you have a flashlite handy put the thermometer to the light keep it there till your mom returns, then put it in you mouth it should go above 99.7 which in my book is enough to stay home. If that doesn't work start "crying".

The easiest way to do it is to swallow smokeless tobacco i.e. skoal or copenhagen. The nicatein released in your stomach will induce puking... or stick a finger down your throat.
