  • Find some premises. Be sure there are kitchen and dining facilities for the number of clients you expect to handle.
  • Find a clinical director with the necessary credentials to obtain the necessary licenses.
  • Find a medical director, and arrange for an MD or ARNP to do medical evaluations and psychiatric eval if needed.
  • Arrange for a billing service and find someone to do insurance reviews and interact with the insurance companies.
  • Decide if you are going to accept juveniles, and make the necessary arrangements to keep them separate from the adults.
  • Hire therapists, mental health techs and maintenance personnel, cook, assistant cook, etc.
  • Develop a marketing strategy, and begin networking with other treatment centers, detox units, and organizations such as unions that might refer their members.
  • Hook up with some halfway houses, sober living facilities and so forth to have someplace to send your clients after they have finished your program.
