How do you open a drug rehab?
Answer:
- Find someone with a lot of money who is willing to invest.
- Find some premises. Be sure there are kitchen and dining facilities for the number of clients you expect to handle.
- Find a clinical director with the necessary credentials to obtain the necessary licenses.
- Find a medical director, and arrange for an MD or ARNP to do medical evaluations and psychiatric eval if needed.
- Arrange for a billing service and find someone to do insurance reviews and interact with the insurance companies.
- Decide if you are going to accept juveniles, and make the necessary arrangements to keep them separate from the adults.
- Hire therapists, mental health techs and maintenance personnel, cook, assistant cook, etc.
- Develop a marketing strategy, and begin networking with other treatment centers, detox units, and organizations such as unions that might refer their members.
- Hook up with some halfway houses, sober living facilities and so forth to have someplace to send your clients after they have finished your program.
There's plenty more to be done, but that's a good start.
