How do you overcome your older siblings death?

• Hi :) I'd lost my father a year ago and it was painful. He was my closest friend and we were always there for each other. I'm now stronger and I still work everyday knowing that he is always with me - in the air that I breath and in the blood that flows in my veins. It's not easy to get over a loved one's death, but you should know that there's always someone there for you and that the person you've lost will be very sad to know that you're grieving over him/ her. Spend time with the people you love, music helps a lot too. Prayer calms you down :) whether you're spiritual or not and meditation helps and whatever happens, know that no matter what, you will be strong :) have a nice day :) will pray for you :)

• I am very sorry to hear about your older siblings death. When you are grieving for someone you loved and they have passed on you go through a grieving period which is normal and healthy no matter how terrible you feel or how hurt inside you are. It leaves the person left behind feeling alone; heart aching; wondering if there was something they could have done to prevent the death, but in all cases there is nothing humanly possible a person could have done to prevent that death. The person grieving may even have feelings of anger when their loved one passes away leaving them behind to hurt so much. The key is time and it does heal the heartache and even though you do not believe it now in time you will be able to look at pictures of your sibling or, think about them and the hurt is replaced because all the great memories of the times you had together and some of those memories will even make you smile or laugh out loud. You will come to realize how blessed you were to have your sibling to build on those memories. If you do not have a belief system then perhaps find one as some people believe after a person dies they do go to heaven and in time when you are older and pass away you will be reunited. It is up to the individual to decide what they want to believe in after a loved one passes away. Everyone you are close too and even people you just meet or have as friends leaves 'imprints' in your life and they receive the same from you. It is from these imprints that we have wonderful memories of our departed loved ones and the way to go forward in life is to do the best you can and make your sibling proud of you for your siblings is not far away from you. If you feel like talking to them in private do so and it is not abnormal. In all religions death is not the end. Grieve for as long as you need and you will heal in time.
