How do you restrain a unsafe child in school?

well when i was in dys(juvie) the kids there would get restrained by scooping them up and bringing them to the ground, and holding there arm back kind of like a police officer, even puttin cuffs on until they calmed down.

-- I too will like to know more on how to restrain a child a bit younger. My son hit me real hard today knocked the wind right out of me. I have literally have to throw my self on top on my six year old, which has worked. I also try to cross his arms under his body when i pin him down. But he is getting too strong for that. so now i have to learn something new.

Throwing yourself on top of a 6yo instead of punishing him for behaving badly wont lead anywhere except peace for the moment. Pick him up and put him in a boring empty room for a few minutes until he calms down. You wont need to hold him down. Whenever he tries to come out he's put back in. Give him warnings first but if he hits first just carry him there/lead him there. Being bored and having nothing to do is actually a good punishment and they have time to think and calm down. Make sure he knows why he's there and when he's calm you can talk face to face and he can apologize.

lay the child face down near a corner and put there arms be hind there back like there being arrested and hold the arms with 2 hands or 1 hand and put your but on the child's legs or Neil on the child's legs and use your legs to keep them in place and if they try hitting there head sit on the child arms and back ad use your hand to hold the child's head
