How do you play defense of the ancients?

This is actually a very general question =]. Basically you're meant to find the other person's base camp and kill all their army and attack their buildings. But in order to be strong enough to kill the other army, you must have a hero and have built your own base camp for food, resources... You also need to mine gold and cut down trees to have enough resources. It's really hard to get used to at first, but i suggest playing the "custom game" on warcraft first and then playing dota. ARE YOU THAT BAD?
The game is a strategy game. So strategicly, a team of 5 in 2 teams. Scourage and Sentinal. One person per team can pick a hero which is allocated with a certain role for the team. They can be: Strength, Tank, Support, Semi Carry. Agility, Hard Carry, Semi Carry, Initiator you noobs. Intelligence: HARD SUPPORT, NUKE AS, SEMI CARRY, CARRY (SOMETIMES _MInkS Invoker).

The main aim of the game is to outplay and with the team, push the towers in the lane and throne the throne on the other team. There are specific time slots where the game encourages different style of play. Early Game: Laning stage, Mid Game (10 Minutes) Pushing/Ganking/Outplaying Stage. ANd Late Game, ALL IN 5 TEAM TEAM FIGHTS NON STOP ACTION AND HARD STRATEGY IS INVOVED. ONE PERSON OUT OF POSITION CAN REUIN THE GAME FOR YOU CAUSE THEY"RE BAD AS.
