HOW TO play Minecraft classic?

First you have to actually download the minecraft server software from the site. Make sure to get the .jar file. Then open the server by clicking on it and it's up. To get people on it you have to get your ip address and give it to them. To find it just open command prompt and type in ipconfig. Once you press enter, look for IPV4 Address and type that in. That should get you on your server. If you have any more questions, ask me.

1.) First, you're going to need software to be able to host. You can get the software from the Minecraft server list at the top of the page, or you can download another program such as McForge. You can find those using a common search engine.

2.) You need to download the software, and save it to somewhere where you will be able to find it such as the desktop.

3.) You need to portforward. You can do this by going to start, then find run either by clicking the run icon, or if you're on windows 7, search run in the search bar. Click on run and type CMD. After that is open, type ipconfig and press enter. Scroll up after the search is done, until you find IPv4 address. And look at the numbers corresponding and keep them in mind, or keep the window open. Next, open up a web browser. Then in the URL bar, type 192.168.0.1 then something will appear asking for a username and password. It usually is something like admin, and then password. After the webpage opens, search the page until you find something that says "Port Forwarding" Open that up, and click add rule, then custom rule. For the service name, name it anything you want. For service type, choose TCP/UDP. For the ports, type 25565, and for the IP type that IPv4 address you had earlier. Then click add rule. It should save.

4.) Open up the software you downloaded, for the software provided by Minecraft, it should start itself. For McForge, open up the .exe and then click the properties button as soon as it opens, and then click port check.

5.) For McForge, you must then open the files, find the properties folder, and go to server.properties. Then go down until you find the MYSQL settings. And where it says Use MYSQL = True, change it to false. Then close McForge, and then reopen it. You now have a server.
