How do you program a key fob for a 2005 chevy venture? |
Answer
Read your owner's manual.
NEW NOTE**** If you have an original key you can do it very easily with that. Buy a new key with the chip in it and get it cut (usually only about 2-3 bucks) Place the existing key in the ignition and turn it to full power up, without starting it for 2 or 3 seconds. Turn it off and then place the new key in and do the same thing but let it sit that way for 3-4 minutes. This should program the new chip without having to pay the 30-100 for the dealer to do. The new key with a chip will run about 30 at the dealer, but if you look on ebay for blank "chip" keys, you can find them for 10-15 dollars. Good luck! I actually got this info from a service tech at chevy who was a friend of mine. I tried it, and it worked.
