How do you take a password off of your router?

go to the router settings on your internet browser (any browser) then type your IP it sould look sum like "192.168.0.1"

-login to the router

-click on installation

-click wireless setup

-click wizard wireless setup

-(automatically assign network key) tick the manually assign a network key

-type your pasword then save ^_^

This answer will be different for every make of router, though usually it means visiting the website of the router itself and using the built-in admin page to set a password.

Use Google to find the instruction manual for the brand and model of your router.

Go the the router manufacturers website and look for steps, I know for netgear routers you go to internet explorer and type your ip address( if you don't know this then go to start, run, type in cmd, then type in ''ipconfig'' then look for a number like this,''169.192.1.1'' then type that into the address bar in internet explorer then it will ask for a user and password, factory default for netgear is user name ''admin'' password ''password'' yes the password is password, then once you in you need to go to wireless setting then type in passphrase then hit apply. Now once you have done all of that you are going to have to change your wireless settings, go to start,control panel, network connections, then click on manage wireless connections, go to your router name and go to security and enter your password u set. well you can go on the brand of the internet and just go on your account if you have on and just ask to change password that's it. it so simple right!!.

You log into your router. Each brand has a different procedure, but generally you put your IP in address bar then login or retrieve your password if you made one. Some have a default you can use if you haven't selected one, but there may not even be a need. If you are hard wired, you can turn wireless off completely if you don't use it and even without a password to use it outsiders need your network key off of your router to get on it, even if they pick up your signal. You can also see who is on it active and inactive on your router without even logging in. Login is only to make admin changes.

Depends on the router, there should have been a disc that enabled you to go into the configuration settings, if not you have to find out the ip address of it and type it in your browser.
