Is very simple, all you do is take a shower and wash your hair, then you do NOT brush your hair, you then twist bunches then braid. do not fool with your now messy braided hair, just DON'T brush or wash your hair.

∙ 14y agoThere are many methods, the two most common being the Backcombing method and the Neglect method. If you are considering getting dreadlocks, make sure you do a lot of reading online first. Visit the link titled Dreadlock Methods for information about different methods of creating locks, and I cannot stress enough that if you are considering getting dreadlocks, you need to do a lot of research before hand, else they're most likely going to not turn out the greatest, and you will be frustrated and disappointed.
the worse places to research is sites selling or pushing dreadlock products as they recommend harmful methods and products in order to make a profit
the best sources of info are always dread forums, especially ones with more experienced members.

Ideally, leaving them braided overnight (covered with a scarf of some sort of course) is the easiest, most hassle free method because the hair is left alone for hours and you're not tempted to tamper with it (you're sleep!). If that's not an option, honestly a couple of hours should be fine (two at the least).
