How do you put fluid in convertible top motor?

There is a rubber plug on the front of the pump pull that out and fill with fluid. You need a tip like the one on a gear oil bottle to fill it.

Mechanic that once worked at VW dealer told me it was hydraulic fluid, better know as power steering fluid. He recommended buying from the dealer to keep the same quality when adding to the reservoir.

Thanks for the info. My top doesn't always go down, but of course today when I took it to the dealership it worked. Where do I find the conv. motor? (I've only had the car a couple of months.) 98'...
