Magic DVD Ripper does all that you need to do and has a setting for both the mix max player and the mix max plus, you just have to click the down arrow on profile and click on the more options at the bottom and tell it to put it as an output option. It took my computer about 30 minutes to rip Alvin and the Chipmunks in a format for the Mix Max and did it all in one step. It has a free trial and if it is as helpful as it appears to be, it will totally be worth purchasing.
Original Answer: You need to convert whatever file you have to WMV using a program like Prism Video Converter. When that is done you need to reconvert it to WMV9 using a program called Windows Media Encoder. (Both can be downloaded FREE)
Windows media encoder can be a little tricky. Open it up and choose "Convert A File" and press ok
Then, hit browse and choose the movie you would like to convert. (It won't let you change the output file so don't bother but don't worry the original movie will still be in tact when finished.) Hit Next
Then, scroll down and choose: "POCKET PC" anything else will not work. Hit Next
Then, Hit Next again.
Then, name it if you want and hit next and then hit finish.
ONCE THE MOVIE STARTS CONVERTING YOU MUST PRESS THE STOP TAB AT THE TOP OF PAGE!!!
Then hit close when the screen pops up. Then click "PROPERTIES" tab on the top of page
Third tab over in the gray area is the "COMPRESSION" tab--- Hit that
Then, click edit on the right side
Then make sure the audio and video boxes are checked and are "CBR" Mode
Audio: Windows Media Player 9.2
Video: Windows Media Player 9
Video Format: NTSC
At the top click the 570 kbsp
Make sure the following are the same:
Audio Format: 128kbps 48Hz Stereo CBR
Video Size: 220X176
Leave "Same as video output" UNCHECKED
Frame Rate: 30 fps
Key frame Intrevals 5 sec
Video Bit Rate: 384K
Buffer Size 5 sec
Decoder Complexity: Simple
Click OK, Click APPLY then click START ENCODING tab on the top of toolbar. Movie will be ready anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on your system. when it is finished drag it to the sync list in windows media player and sync it. If after all of this you still get the INVALID FILE ERROR message go to your settings on the mix max and change it from MTC to MST and try again. You need to change these depending on if you are using a memory card or not.

No, it is only included with Sky Movies however you can add the channel for £4.89 a month on top of your existing subscription.Personally, I think this is a rip off, I pay for the Children's mix and don't watch Movies, the channel is dedicated to children yet it's excluded from the mix.
