I have just tried out a washi paper quilting starter kit which I purchased from Hanko Designs. The kit comes with templates, cardboard, foam and instructions. You copy one of the templates onto the cardboard and cut out the shape, then do the same with the foam. You then glue the foam shape onto the cardboard shape. Now comes the difficult part: you take a piece of washi paper and fold it snugly around the shape. Of course you have to cut the paper about a quarter of an inch bigger than the shape, so thatyou have enough to fold behind the shape. It wasn't clear from the instructions whether you are supposed to glue the paper to the back of the shape - I did, because it kept on coming loose. It came out quite nicely for a first attempt, but I realized that I didn't do it quite right - I think the instructions should have been a bit more specific. I hope that more or less answers the question. Good luck, Dorcas (Israel)
