How do you reach higher consciousness?
Answer:
Consciousness can be defined as the mechanism which enables to have the highest status with the least effort. It can therefore be considered as an antonym of stress.
The status of an individual is determined by his average skill. Since modern people are more skilled in one activity the concept of consciousness doesn't make much sense to them. Adding to the confusion is the fact that they have alarming levels of stress. In fact, it is these two factors that attract modern people to consciousness.
Terminology of consciousness:
In the modern world very few people can claim that they have consciousness. This is because most people have stress. Those who have no stress have low status or average skill.
Consciousness can't be measured using any devise. The terminology to be used can't be standardized because no one knows what consciousness is.
Most people who have consciousness reach that state using conventional meditation. Thus, when they are conscious and thus their mind blank they would not have any control over their mind and therefore they can't study the mechanism of consciousness.
Higher consciousness:
Higher consciousness could mean two things.
1. Higher efficiency
2. What lies above consciousness.
There are two other words which appear to have the same meaning. They are,
1. Super consciousness
2. Hyper consciousness
What lies above consciousness?
By the word consciousness we usually mean the state we reach during conventional meditation. Thus, when the mind is blank for prolonged periods and restlessness is gone completely we suppose that we have reached the state of consciousness.
Hyper consciousness:
Can there be any thing above the state during conventional meditation? When the mind is blank and restlessness is gone completely we may feel that the state is too dull and not worth having. This indicates that it is low status consciousness.
It is in fact this low status consciousness we end up having after mastering conventional meditation that makes us to look for higher consciousness.
How to have hyper consciousness:
We can reach the state of Hyper consciousness from the state of Consciousness by making the muscle The Pharyngeal Constrictor between the throat and spine contract isometrically towards it upper end.
Super consciousness:
It is a state a few masters of meditation have reached. However, none of them have described it in detail probably because they may have succeeded in just having a glimpse of it.
Super consciousness in its complete form is a state we reach at the end stage of Original Meditation.
In super consciousness we can feel that consciousness is of seven distinct types.
They are,
1. Dreamy consciousness
2. Illusory consciousness
3. Voluntary consciousness
4. Semi voluntary consciousness
5. Involuntary consciousness
6. Status altering consciousness
7. Compulsive consciousness
The few people who reach the state of super consciousness realize that it is one way journey from the Dreamy consciousness to compulsive consciousness. At this stage super courage soon gets converted into compulsive behavior. Thus, changing of consciousness should be practiced in ascending and descending orders and also at random.
How to have Super consciousness:
We have to make all the skeletal muscles of the body to isometrically contract (Harden and soften) as a single unit. Then we can make it contract as seven independent segments.
However, it is more difficult to master than the Hyper consciousness state of conventional meditation.
