Well, first beat Rayquaza (all that good stuff) then return to Mt. Thunder. There, you MUST have your beginning character and a YELLOW GUMMI. Then, when Zapdos appears in front of you and says "I challenge thee" or whatever it was, run back many steps, away from zapdos. Then, throw your yellow gummi at him (pray he catches it) and start attacking him. That has a 80% chance of working everytime and if for SOME reason it doesn't the first, turn off your DS and go back to the Mid point (where you really should have saved it). Voila, you have Zapdos. This works on all the other birds too just you need to have their appropriate gummis. Another thing, it's a good idea to evolve before going to face him (because that means you'll be stronger and more likely he'll join.)

∙ 13y agoZapdos is in Mt. Thunder Peak 5F. Moltres is in Mt. Blaze Peak 3F. Articuno is in Frosty Grotto 5F. Save after Mt. Thunder, Mt. Blaze, or Mt. Freeze where there's a Kangaskhan stature, so you can restart from there if they don't join you.
You'll have to return and beat them at least a second time to recruit them.
Have the Platinum, Diamond, or Lucario Rank, send all your teammates home, be at a very high level, and be holding the Friend Bow as you KO the bird. Make sure you're no more than one distance unit away from the bird when you defeat it, your body size is 1, and that you're the one that KO's the bird. Good Luck!

∙ 12y agook first you need to fight zapdos. most of the time he wont join your team when you beat him because he has a 25% recruit rate. BUT an easy way to get him to join is have you and one partner.that should boost it up to 70%. he should come with his own friend area legendary island. by the way his recruit level is 30.

∙ 10y agoI'm trying to... but try to keep leveling up so you can do more damage to it. Reviver seeds, blast seeds, and sleep seeds couldn't hurt either.

∙ 15y agoYou just to fight once then after you fight it the second time (at the end of the game) you get it on your team then you can switch it to your party leader and use it.
