A microwave will heat it evenly on the inside and outside. If you leave the steak in long enough to reach "eating temperature" but not long enough to go much higher, it will not be cooked significantly more than it was before.

Steaks are best not reheated - As cooking them will already cause shrinkage and loss of moisture in the meat. If you need to reheat them, make sure you're not eating it as a steak anymore, regardless of what doneness you have it on. The meat gets tougher as its meat exterior is overcooked - Which you might want to avoid also, because reheating steaks may cause this to happen.

What you can do:

# Slice them into pieces and get your stew boiling. # Stir-fry it, Chinese style like beef stir fried Kylie Kwong style. # Thaw your meat. Get a grill/broiler and turn it on to high heat. Heat the meat inside under high heat for 10 seconds or so, remove. # Steam your meat under slow steaming. Keep in mind that your meat won't be as good as before.

If you're using Kobe Beef, always remember - Opt for steaming or smoking rather than grilling. If you need to brown them, use high heat and get them browned for less than 30 secs on both sides.

When cooking a steak what is considered rare?

The steak is more cooked through than very rare (please view "When cooking a steak what is considered very rare?"). The steak is cooked till it is still red and cool inside but, by cooking it so that the inside temperature rises to 120 allows the steak to have some flavor.

Does steak loses it taste more its cooked?

Yes; you should never overcook steak. Steak should preferably be cooked on a high heat and turned only once, cooking until it reaches the desired stage, for example, rare, medium, well done, and stages in between. Test it by pressing with a finger after you've turned it: rare steak will feel soft, medium will be slightly firm but still springy, and well done steak will be firm to the touch. Stop cooking and remove steak from the pan just before it reaches the exact stage you want it, because it needs to rest for the best flavour and texture to develop; also it will still continue to cook for a short while. Overcooked steak, that is steak that has been cooked for too long, will be tough and lacking in flavour. Always pre-heat your pan or griddle for cooking steak: turn the hotplate or gas to a medium-high heat and leave for a few minutes. The pan will reach a high heat, and not become too hot after you begin cooking.

What cooking method would you use to increase the digestability of protein?

To digest protein more efficiently, the protein needs to be combined with an acid. For example, when eating a steak, eat it with a vinaigrette on a salad or with a wine.

How do you cook a shoulder steak or steak shoulder?

Make sure the steak is at room temperature before you cook it. Cook the steak at a high enough temperature. Rest the steak for 5-10 minutes after cooking in a warm, covered vessel. Choose a good cut of meat. The more fat 'marbling' the meat has, the more moist and tender the steak will be, choose a steak with a nice bright red color, and once you push it down it should feel firm, not spongy. There is no need to put any sauces (except Au Jus) on a high quality steak, you can put cajun seasoning if you want. Best seasoning for a steak is Lawry's ® Seasoned Salt.

What does baseline mean in baking?

Baseline in baking: once you've established a timing baseline, such as 30 minutes for cakes, you can use that baseline and know to add or subtract a little time depending on whether your cake mix turns out to be less or more. For instance, in cooking steak, if your baseline is 9 minutes, you may want to lessen the time for a thinner steak or lengthen the time for a larger steak.
