The brine valve is located in the brine tank in the 3 inch tube. Systems with brass control valves prior to the year 2000 do not have a brine valve in the tank. the air check is performed by the tri guard. ( clear plastic thing with the ball in attached to the valve body)

What size foot valve?

The foot valve in a well should be the same size as the down pipe, usually 1 inch, but could be as small as 3/4 or as large as 1 1/2 . Foot valves are made in all those sizes.

How do you determine if the foot valve is bad in a deep well pump or if there is a problem with the bladder tank?

When the check valve failed to seat properly at the lower unit in our well, the reserve tank would drain down quickly and then the pump would run again and again and again, . . . If you have a valve between the pump outlet and the tank you can turn it off to check operation of the tank. Most likely your valve has failed. It did this very often until we had the entire mechanism in the well replaced and installed a submersible pump. No problems since and the submersible pump is hardly audible compared to the old pump motor which was mouted near the well head in the basement. Good luck. Bob Jarnutowski bobjarn (at) hotmail.com Ans 2 - A deep well pump does not have a'foot valve' -they are only on a jet pump. You have NOT told us the exact problem. If the bladder tank is not holding water then you may have a faulty check valve on top of your deep pump. Splits in the pumpdrop line down the well are also common. -The bladder in the tank can also be faulty. -You must tell us ALL symptoms , not just ask about two things you've heard names of. Best solution - call a well tech , NOT a plumber !

Remove the handle. Use your deepwell 3/4 to 1 inch mechanic sockets to remove the valve or buy or rent the socket from your local ACE hardware store. You can sometime also remove the valve extension covers and then remove the valve with a box end wrench.

Why no heat 2004 Acura RL?

Does the fan work? if not, check fuses. if does work, check coolant level first. Next, check heater valve in engine compartment, on fire wall, has ~ 1 inch hoses connected between the engine and to the heater core inside the passenger side. Have someone turn temperature knob inside car and observe cable on Heater Valve is moving. (Can be simple as the screw on top of heater valve loose or cable maybe stuck). Heater valve can be stuck closed. Check hose gets hot between valve and heater core.

How do you install a front valve cover gasket on a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix?

For the 3.8L supercharged this is what needs to be done. Remove the front lift bracket, the front dog bones , the passenger side engine coil bracket(it has the coils on it), remove the spark plug wires , remove the 6 valve cover bolts and pull the valve cover. When reassmebling use a torque wrench so as not to overtighten. (torque to about 89 inch lbs I think) Hope this helps. "G"

How do you change valve covers on a 1977 Cadillac eldorado 425 engine?

1. If working on the left side , remove the air cleaner , heat duct and crankcase ventilating breather. 2. If working on the right side remove pcv valve and elbow from cover. Remove Alternator wiring harness from clips. 3. Remove spark plug cables clips from studs and move them out of the way. 4. Remove seven bolts and two screw studs holding cover to head and remove cover. If removal is difficult , use a hammer and a block of wood to loosen. Do not pry on valve cover!!! Use Rtv when installing the new gasket. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten all bolts to 30 inch pounds. Reattach all spark plug wires and everything else that was disconnected. check for leaks.
