Wash hands. Prepare your area with asepsis in mind.
Connect a 10ml syringe to the port and remove all the fluid inflating the balloon.
There may be more than 10mls so be sure to empty fully.

Ask the patient to breath in and explain that on exhalation you will remove the catheter.
A simple steady pull will do the trick.
