Look under the left side and unplug the taillight connector. On the upper end of each support cable push tab and release cable. Remove bottom right side of tailgate by pulling it toward you. It is slotted and will pull out when the tailgate is at the correct angle. Once that is released slide the tailgate to the right to release the left side. One strong person can do this but two is makes it eaiser. Be careful it is heavy.
