They should just slide off, there is sometimes a metal retainer ring on one of the studs but you can just tear that off with a pair of pliers (it's just there to keep the drums in place on the assembly line) if the brake drums have worn into a bell shape, which they sometimes do, you may have to back off on the adjuster some which can usually be accessed by removing a rubber plug from the backing plate(opposite the drum) and turned with a small flat tool, like a flathead screw driver. Very LIGHT tapping between the studs with a SMALL hammer will sometimes shake them loose too, the drum can rust to the hub, but DON'T hammer hard and DON'T hit the lug studs. Good Luck!

Remove the 2006 Pontiac Montana wheel and tire. Remove the brake pad Springs. The brake pads will come off. Reverse the process to install the new brake pads.

Remove the wheel, remove the brake caliper and the caliper adapter bracket, pull the rotor off of the wheel studs.
remove old brake pads, replace with new brake pads voila!
1. Remove the brake hose to caliper bolt from the brake caliper. 2. Remove the brake hose from the brake caliper. 3. Remove and discard the 2 copper brake hose gaskets. These gaskets may be stuck to the brake caliper and/or the brake hose end. 4. Cap or plug the opening in the brake caliper and the brake hose to prevent fluid loss and contamination. 5. Remove the 2 brake caliper pin bolts. Remove the park brake cable from the caliper. 6. Remove the brake caliper from the brake caliper bracket.
Unless this is a brake by wire system the switch should be located on the upper end of the brake pedal arm.
