First, put some ice in a plastic bag and seal it. Place the bag on the gum and wait till it hardens. When it solidifies, crack as much off as possible. let the remaining get back to room temperature. Use WD-40 on a cloth or paper towel and rub the gum with it. It will eventually liquify the remaining gum and continue until all the gum is gone. You could also put tape on it and rip it off.
put affected leather in the freezer for a few hours and the gum may crack and break off while it is frozen.
Try using peanut butter...let it sit for awhile and try it. The oil base in the peanut butter should counter the stickyness and lift it without hurting the leather.
You just need some nail polish remover.
Hand sanitizer works wonders as well. Apply some sanitizer to the spot, allow it to soak in, and remove with a paper towel.
