To remove paint on almost any thing. Use a Q-tip with nail polish remover on it. Dap,( not soak ) the paint spot, change the Q-tip as needed. Go slow at first, you should test an area to see the reaction to the remover. If you dap directly on the paint very little remover will get on the material. I have been able to get paint off of leather, car interiors, clothes that have been washed and dried, carpet, brass, wood, and vinyl.

You can get water-based paint off canvas shoes like Vans by removing any heavy paint with a spoon. Use the spoon to scrape off the excess paint. Next, blot the stains using a clean rag, making sure not to rub. Run the canvas shoes under a cold tap then wash them with a clean rag and warm, soapy water. Use circular motions as you work through the stain then rinse under the tap once again.

Depending on the material the shoe is made of, you can use a solvent called OOPS. Found at most hardware stores, Walmart, or Target. I have used to remove paint, grass stains, grease, etc. out of clothes, off shoes, and other textiles. Word of caution though...when using any products like this, you are deteriorating the fibers of the fabric to some degree., so do not overuse the chemicals. More is not better in these instances. Would suggest you follow the instruction on the back closely.
