Start by pulling off the biggest pieces. Most material will do okay if you apply an ice cube (or put the clothing in a plastic bag, folded with the gum section UP and not touching the bag and then put the bag in the freezer for 12-24 hours). After freezing, the gum should lift off. Then, wait a few hours so the remaining gum softens and, using a sponge of any type and soap, try washing off the rest of the gum.
