Pittman's Original VaporWax is a once a month Acrylic paint conditioner that is a mist on product. It inhibits rust, removes oxidation and eleminates the need for wax.
The only reason you want to remove oxidation from aluminum is if you're going to coat the aluminum with an anticorrosive treatment like anodizing it because it will re-oxidize very quickly.
But if you DO want to remove the oxidation, either sand it off or use phosphoric acid.
I suggest you don't remove the oxidization, it forms a protective layer which will seal the material. I realize it isn't pretty but it is useful. Most products that do remove oxidization also remove material and thus open the aluminum to the elements which just starts the oxidization process again. So in short wash your boat with a mild detergent and rinse it well after use. Save your arms for reeling in the big ones and holding the cold ones.
Sincerely,
Mike

The aluminum metals
The most common are 0 and 3+.
Aluminum "rust", or oxidation, is not the red kind found on iron and steel. In fact, aluminum oxidation occurs extremely easily but is not a much different color, nor does it build up over time like rust does. Aluminum oxide actually protects the aluminum from corrosion. It is 'self healing' -- if you scratch it, the scratched aluminum will re-oxidise very quickly.
+3
oxidation of the aluminum
The oxidation number of Al is +3.

Aluminum has only oxidation numbers. They are zero and +3.

Replace them with Upvc frames. Think of the time you'll save!
