It is what they use in surgery to prep patients with and also what they scrub with prior to performing surgery. You may be able to find it at a Home Health Agency type place or ask your physician if they could supply you for a charge with a bottle. Just a drop on a sponge is all you need and it will clean a very large area.

Sometimes they can tell you if they supply people outside of the medical facilities or where you can obtain their products (i.e. Home Care Stores, online, etc.).
Next good way is:
Rubbing alcohol (Painful if abrasions are on skin) or Fingernail polish remover works
Tape is mostly consisting of an adhesive and some sort of durable plastic backing. A damp cloth may be a reasonable way to remove residue without the use of chemicals or other harmful substances.
People say that rubbing alcohol works. But for me Vaseline rub works the best.
Just use a little WD-40, or if that scares you, a little vegetable oil will do the trick.
ANS 2 - Goof-Off or Goo-Gone work better.
If a solvent is recommended on the container, try it first. Other than that, Goo-Gone and acetone may work. Keep in mind that acetone will damage some plastics and paint finishes..
I clean most glue residues off with Goo Gone or Goof Off. I try to avoid more 'dangerous' solvents like acetone and lacquer thinner, but they are sometimes necessary.

This adhesive residue is very difficult to remove. From personal experience I would say that rubbing alcohol or alcohol swaps work the best. You can also try magic erasers.
WD-40 works well removing the sticky residue.
Scrape carefully with a metal spatula, then get residue with acetone.
Get an edge loose, then pull it with pliers. Use Goof-off to remove any residue.
Warm it up with a hair dryer, then pull it. Clean off residue with Goo Gone.

Use Goof-Off. It works wonders for cleanly removing all kinds of sticky stuff and adhesive residue.
