To reove the back seat from a Mazda 6, you need to do the following.
1. Remove the 4 plastic covers on the front edge of the seat. You can prise them off easily.
2. Removing these covers exposes 4 10mm bolts, which have to be removed.
3. Now, you will be able to raise the base of the seat, and this will allow you to see 4 13mm bolts, which have to come out.
4. You will need a fairly large size Torx to undo the seat belt anchorages. The reason for this is, that the seatbelts are built into the seats, and so need to be undone.
5. Uncover the bolts behind the seat by pulling the carpet away. The carpet is secured by some push type clips, which pull out easily.
6. Undo the 4 13mm bolts behind the seat.
7. When you have all the bolts undone, the only thing holding the seat is the cable mechanism for allowing the seat to tilt forward. Prise the little black cover open, and remove the cable. (cable remains attached to the seat)
8. You're done!!
big truck and a chain
the fuel pump is under the back seat, take out the seat and you will see a plate, un screw the 4 screws the you will see fuel pump under the plate. there are 6 or 7 screws on the pump so unscrew them en you hav your pump...wait.. back up! with regards to 1999 Mazda 626, the tank and pump are indeed under the back seat. However you will have to remove the gas tank from under the car to get to the fuel pump. There is defiantly NOT an access plate under the back seat. that would be to easy! CMFWB
It means that your seat sensor is broken. Solution from Mazda is a new seat bottum.
Changing the battery on a Mazda 6 is very easy to do. You will first need to remove the bar that is over the battery, then you will need to remove the battery terminals. After the battery is removed, put the new one in and put the battery terminals back in place, and put the bar back on.
Remove the rear bench seat by pulling the two tabs under the seat (one under the passenger side, and one under the driver side) to release the seat from the car. Remove the sheet metal panel, and you will find the fuel pump located just under that.

You need to remove the rear seat cushion and seat back, then remove the two side panels on either side of the rear deck, then lift up the rear deck to gain access to the two 6x9's.

First you need to drop down the back rests. You should be able to locate a total of 6 bolts back there right against the back of the seat. Two bolts are on the left side, 2 on the right and 2 in the middle. They are holding the seat down to the car with brackets that are bolted to the seat, do not remove the brackets from the seat. If these bolts have never been removed before it may be difficult to get them loose. I had to do this recently to repair my fuel pump which is located under the rear seat cushions.
