I think the bolt is a 10mm then pull it out. Have not had many problems with the 6.0 cam sensor like the 7.3L
It is the only electrical part that's in the distributor. Remove the cap and rotor and you will see it.
The answer depends on what engine you have.
The crank shaft positioning sensor is behind the starter. A real bear to get to.
The throttle position sensor is on the throttle shaft, on the throttle body.
On the throttle body attached to the throttle butterfly shaft.

A 1986 ford van does not a crank shaft position sensor,, it uses the pickup in the distributer
It is in the oil pan. Nissan has had a recall to reprogram the sensor. They may have to replace the sensor for free. It cost about $600 for repair.
car will not start if the crank shaft positing sensor is bad ..because it control the car spark plug firing..( no fire no start )
