On Passat's 07-09 you need to remove the in dash radio, this can be done by removing the aluminum trim around the console. You must then remove the radio unit using a t20 wrench. After removing the radio unit, underneath the vents, in now empty dash are 2 more t20 screws you will need to remove those as well. using a flat head screw driver or trim removal tool, wedge the flat head between the vents and rubber trim (Like you would remove the radio Trim) the vent should slide out. Careful as the vents are tied to the hazard lights and must be disconnected to successfully pull out the vents.
To remove center air vent s a t20 tool is needed. Unscrew, climate control unit and compartment. After it is pulled away, their vents are exposed. To remove air vents unscrew bolts and pop out of place.
You will need to remove the center air vent diffuser. Gently prior around the center dual vent to find and release the holding clips. Slide the vent out. The flasher is on the left inside and is removed from the vent opening. Pricey part coming from China.
the radio is below the center of the windshield, right below the air vents... If you mean how do you REMOVE the radio then that's another question altogether. PULL out center air vents, REMOVE ashtray, there are 2 bolts there and 2 where you removed the air vent. Remove those and your there.
2 remove the cdplayer/tape unit...pull out the center air vent underneath the CD player. There will be 2 x 10mm bolts in there...remove boths and bobs your uncle
I had the same problem with my 2000 Passat. According to my mechanic (an excellent independent), the vent cover over the bulbs is not removable without breaking it out. So you may need to buy a new bulb and a new vent cover ($100+).
stick an air freshener in the interior vent
just remove the clips at each end of the hoses and the screws and that's all to it
YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE GLOVE BOX. ITS MOUNTED ON THE FRESH AIR DUCT.
You have to remove the vents of the air ducts. Then use a vacuum to remove any debris. After that you can use a stringy mop to dust the rest of the vent out.
No. You vent air from a sewer line.
