How do you remove the dash of a 1997 Riviera to remove the stock radio? In: Buick Riviera |

Answer
I don't have an answer but wonder if you have had one yet? There are a series of fasteners under the dash but I don't know if that is what is holding the dash on or not. I am going to find out as soon as I can get some kind of tool to pull them. I don't want to harm the dash. Thanks Joe
I don't know if you are looking to replace your existing radio or not, but Crutchfield (www.crutchfield.com) provides very helpful instructions on how to remove factory stereos in order to replace them with an aftermarket version. The instructions are very clear and geared for your particular make/model. It may not be necessary to remove the entire dash. I'm not sure if they would sell just the instructions, but they do come with your order. If I'm not mistaken, once you have ordered from them, you can often download a PDF file of instructions. Hope this helps.
Jim S. if you are replaceing stock with stock you first need to remove 5-6 plastic pins in the under side of dash best done by carefully pushing center of pins in then gently with small screw driver remove pins, next 5-6 star bit bolts under side of dash take both side covers of one on each end, remove the two screws one on each end, take small screw driver pry gently on bottom of dash panel, the wire harness for lights and for one more small item in center lowerof dash, carefully slide out instrument cover then you will see all the screws you need to remove radio.tough to get to rear wire connection try to find someone with small hands
