How do you remove the ignition switch from aford transit van model 190 diesel?

if the van is pre year 2000 ,not a problem take battery terminal off (stops airbag exploding) remove outer plastic cowling,airbag and steering wheel,take off multi function switch (controls for wipers and indicators etc). get a small punch and or chisel tap soft head bolts anti clockwise and bolts will loosen then seperate from column and do all that in reverse to replace with new ignition. If van is after year 2000 then you have to change whole steering column being careful not to damage key reader when taking old one out (small plastic black ring around key hole . column should be around £40 from a breakers .Dont forget to get key to new ignition ! then pull out small glass file in your old key -underneath small red or blue plastic square on your old key and swop with new key -simples....you must change the glass file or your van will NOT start.
