How to change a hid xenon headlight bulb on a 2002 Renault laguna II?

Just got my 51 plate drivers side done, by my local garage. This is what they did:
take off the front grill plate, undo the bumper on the side to be changed so it hangs down out of the way. then take the whole unit out from the front.
In short dont do it. give it to a garage.

Hi, If your hands are really small or you have access to child labour it is just about possible to squeeze in from the back. Take the plastic covers off around the engine and in the very small gaps in the front corners there is access to the back of the light unit. I use long nose pliers and a large amount of swearing to change mine.

Take the battery out if you need the space.
Unhook the metal clip securing the water tight cover at the rear of the lamp unit.
Remove the black plastic cover.
Remove the electrical connectors form the lamp
There is a metal spring clip securing the lamp which needs a squeeze to release.
The lamp can now be withdrawn.
Refit in reverse, remembering not to touch the glass of the lamp and ensure the black plastic cover is fitted securely.

i work at halfords, and there's a trick to these cars.
people say that you need to take the wheel off, or the bumpers but it's not required.
the steering lock needs to be put on full towards the opposite side, if your changing the drivers side put the lock on towards the passengers.
then remove the plastic cover under the wheel arch.
it will reveal another plastic cover which if rubber will just pull off, else twist off.
this will then reveal the bulb, pull out the cable which may need a bit of a jiggle.
the bulb should be held in place by a metal spring clip which needs to be pushed towards the front of the car and then outwards, this should release the bulb.
change the bulb it should be a 477, about a tenner, or 4 pounds on trade.
and then do the reverse.

∙ 9y agoYou can change the headlight through the engine compartment. Take hold of the headlight connector, push in and turn. The headlight will come out.

there is no fuse i beleave just for the right headlight, i presume your right headlight is not working, do you have xenon or halogen bulbs, if you have xenon then the most likely cause is headlight xenon control modules, if the module is the cause i would sudjest replacing both headlight modules, and the front right xenon bulb. good luck.

I am not sure which Megane you have but I have adjusted them on my 2003 convertible. (old model). It was very easy, just underneath the front bumper was a screw with a torx head (star),beneath each fog light. I slackened it a turn or two, straightened up the fog light and tightened it.
